The Master of Science in Nursing with a major in Primary Care prepares registered nurses to function as Family Nurse Practitioners who provide primary care in a variety of settings. Classes meet online for the first year, then online and onsite for clinical courses. The final course in online.
The major focuses on:
- developing competence in health assessment;
- management of specific health problems; and
- promotion of wellness for individuals.
Opportunities to hone your critical thinking and clinical problem-solving skills are provided
throughout the program. As a graduate, you are eligible to apply for nurse practitioner certification
by the appropriate credentialing body.
